1960 brought Chevrolet into the modern era with the C/K series lineup with production through 1998 in the United States. The "C" indicated a two-wheel drive configuration and "K" indicated four-wheel drive. Among the available configurations, the C10 was the most common pickup: a half-ton truck with 6.5- or 8-foot bed. Styling remained essentially the same with slight variations until a redesign in 1997.
