1971 Pontiac LeMans GT-37 - Restored, 400 V8, Factory A/C, Rare
Pontiac Muscle Offered for sale is a beautifully restored 1971
Pontiac LeMans GT-37, one of Pontiac's most distinctive and
underrated muscle cars. Finished in striking 1969 Camaro Green with
a black vinyl top and black bucket-seat interior, this GT-37
combines classic Pontiac performance with eye-catching styling and
excellent road manners. The GT-37 was introduced by Pontiac as a
budget-minded performance package based on the LeMans, giving
buyers much of the muscle-car attitude of the GTO at a lower price.
By 1971, the GT-37 had evolved into a unique model with aggressive
striping, hood pins, rally styling cues, and Pontiac V8 power. With
relatively low production numbers and many lost to time, authentic
GT-37s have become increasingly desirable among Pontiac enthusiasts
and collectors. This example has undergone a comprehensive
restoration performed locally by a noted restorer. The body and
paint present exceptionally well, finished in beautiful 1969 Camaro
Green with a contrasting black vinyl top. Exterior restoration
included new weather-stripping throughout and professionally
re-chromed bumpers. The engine compartment, undercarriage, and
trunk have all been restored and show the care invested in the
project. Power comes from a rebuilt 1977 Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8,
providing strong Pontiac torque and dependable cruising
performance. The engine is backed by an automatic TH350
transmission and a rear axle equipped with 3.23 gears. Factory
power steering and power disc brakes make the car comfortable and
enjoyable to drive. The restored black interior features vinyl
bucket seats, center console, new carpeting, and a rebuilt driver's
seat. Factory air conditioning, heater, gauges, lights, horn,
wipers, and other accessories are functional. An AM/FM radio is
fitted for cruising enjoyment. Additional highlights include:
Genuine 1971 Pontiac LeMans GT-37 Original Oregon title (copy
included) Rebuilt Pontiac 400 V8 TH350 automatic transmission
Factory air conditioning Power steering Power brakes Black
bucket-seat interior with center console New carpeting New Cooper
tires Full-size spare with matching wheel Rebuilt radiator New
battery New weather-stripping throughout Re-chromed bumpers
Professionally restored body, engine bay, undercarriage, and trunk
The car runs and drives well and presents beautifully. The only
notable item is that the side windows could benefit from adjustment
to reduce wind noise at speed. For Pontiac enthusiasts seeking
something different from the typical GTO, this GT-37 offers rarity,
excellent presentation, strong V8 performance, and a fascinating
place in Pontiac muscle-car history. It is a car that attracts
attention wherever it goes and represents an increasingly
hard-to-find piece of early-1970s Pontiac performance heritage.
