HIGHLIGHTS: The Heart: 2011 5.7L Hemi V8 with MegaSquirt MS3 EFI
The Transmission: Rebuilt 3-speed Torqueflite (less than 500 miles
ago!) The Chassis: Complete front-end rebuild with restored
steering gearbox The Vibe: A total ""Time Capsule"" interior with
""Modern Muscle"" performance. BODY OVERVIEW: With its unmistakable
forward look and sculpted lines, this '62 New Yorker carries its
early '60s elegance with pride. The body is straight, solid, and
unmistakably Chrysler, appearing to retain all its original metal.
Chrome trim and brightwork are present and in beautiful condition
(though on a Mopar car like this, trim being present is more than
half the battle!). Overall, this is a very solid and original car.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: A high-quality repaint was done by
Quarter Mile Muscle of Mooresville, NC. Known for their high end
paint jobs, they didn't disappoint with this one. The Coral Grey is
smooth, glossy, and true to the factory aesthetic. This thoughtful
update honors the car's heritage. INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The
seats have been recently reupholstered by Finish Line Interiors of
Mooresville, NC offering a clean and comfortable ride. The
dashboard electrical was restored, and the gorgeous
electroluminescent lighting is fully operational and it looks
incredible at night! While the steering wheel and door panels show
some honest age, the original radio and turn-signal sliders have
been restored and remain operational. MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under
the hood, this New Yorker breaks all expectations. The original
engine has been replaced with a 2011 5.7L Gen III Hemi V8,
installed during its time as a MegaSquirt EFI development vehicle.
Managed by a MegaSquirt MS3 Gold-Box system and mated to a rebuilt
original 3-speed Torqueflite automatic (rebuilt less than 500 miles
ago)and features custom long-tube headers (aluminized by Calico
Coatings) and a 3-inch dual exhaust system. A new radiator and
cooling system keep the modern Hemi running perfectly. A complete
front-end rebuild by CJR Restoration and precision-sleeved
brakes/booster by White Post Restorations mean this car stops and
steers as well as it goes. WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The
""Sleeper"" factor: surprise modern muscle cars at the stoplight.
The effortless reliability of modern EFI in a 1962 body. The local
NC craftsmanship that went into every major system. WHAT YOU MIGHT
HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: Purists may miss the original engine, but they
won't miss the 1960s maintenance. Some interior plastic and trim
show their age, reminding you it is a survivor. DOES IT NEED
ANYTHING? Nothing urgent as this New Yorker is a turn-key cruiser.
While the power windows are functional, they are ""vintage"" and
occasionally require a helping hand to go up or down. The Oil PSI
and Temp gauges are currently inactive, as are the reverse lights.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Perfect for the enthusiast who
wants classic looks with modern performance! This Chrysler is ideal
for someone who values originality in appearance but wants the
confidence of a reliable, fuel-injected Hemi drivetrain-without
compromising the original styling. It's perfect for someone who
values the ""Race City"" build quality and wants a reliable,
fuel-injected long-distance cruiser that keeps its 1960s soul
intact. Contact Rare Rides Company at 980-306-8100 or
