In the realm of the autoverse, few vehicles have starred in more
enthusiasts' fantasies than the iconic '57 Chevy. Whether Concours
show level, restomod, race-ready, or somewhere in between, there
really is nothing like it. As the flaming quarter panels
not-so-subtly hint, this gorgeous, fully repainted grey 1957
Chevrolet Bel Air Pro Street model we have for you is truly one of
a kind. Starting with its sturdy two-door post configuration, this
head-turner has undergone a show-car conversion that makes it
impossible to ignore. With its painted three-piece front bumper,
painted grille, H4 headlights set in custom-painted bezels,
gorgeous polished Budnick wheels shod with skinny front tires,
contrasted with huge Mickey Thompsons out back, in classic hot-rod
style. With custom suspension, no frills interior, and full
six-point roll cage, this '57 is poised to be a true boulevard
bruiser.
Inside, we find a custom greyish-tan cloth interior. Step over the
roll bar and strap into the custom bucket seats, complete with
racing belts, which are essential. A power-assisted custom Budnik
steering wheel sits ahead of an OE-looking dashboard that replaces
the stock gauges with an Auto Meter setup, featuring a huge
10,000-rpm tachometer front and center, with water pressure and
fuel gauges flanking it on either side. A chrome B&M T-bar
shifter is about the extent of amenities this race-ready classic
has to offer. Don't bother looking for a back seat either, extra
weight is the enemy of ETs, but it does allow plenty of space for a
change of pants for any unsuspecting passengers.
The title "Pro Street" may be a telltale sign that something
sinister lies beneath the hood of this retro racer. A massive
naturally-aspirated 502 cubic-inch V-8, which we're told has been
stroked out to an even more impressive 540 balanced and blueprinted
cubic-inches. Pro Topline aluminum heads, a polished Dart aluminum
hi-rise intake manifold, and MSD ignition create enough power to
move a freight train, while ceramic-coated Doug's long tube headers
feed into a true dual exhaust capped off with a set of
sweet-sounding FlowMaster mufflers. That power is routed through a
built TH400 three-speed automatic transmission before being sent to
the Ford nine-inch rear end.

allow this car to scrub off all the speed it will undoubtedly amass
at any given moment. In the realm of car collections, few cars can
