average FJ Cruiser-this one sheds its roof for an open-air
experience, thanks to a rare convertible conversion from Newport
Convertible Engineering. The body retains its bold, unmistakable FJ
styling, but with added personality. As shown in the photos, there
are some minor nicks and dings as are to be expected for a vehicle
of this vintage. Buyers should note that this was originally a
Michigan vehicle, and the undercarriage shows it. As shown in the
photos, there is an area of heavy rust in the frame rail towards
the front of the driver's side. PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The Black
Cherry Pearl finish brings depth and richness to the exterior,
turning heads in a sea of beige SUVs. Toyota paint isn't exactly
known for longevity, and this FJ has held up well over the years.
There is a bubble above the rear passenger tire that deserves
attention, but otherwise the paint holds a good shine and presents
well save for normal chips and surface scratches. There are some
touchups and rock chips present on the front, as shown in the
photos. INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Inside, the black and gray
leather seats offer a clean, rugged look with a touch of comfort.
The overall condition is very good, with normal wear common to a
utility vehicle. The stereo has been upgraded to a modern Sony unit
with Alpine speakers. Factory features include a real 4x4 shifter,
compass, and level gauge. Overall, the cabin reflects the vehicle's
low mileage and responsible ownership. The convertible conversion
integrates well into the interior layout, giving it a distinctive
vibe. MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Mechanically, this FJ runs and drives
just as a low-mileage Toyota should-reliable, composed, and ready
for any adventure. The power convertible top is inoperable, but the
top functions well manually. Power windows, A/C, power steering,
and other features function as they should for a great blend of
rugged utility and modern comfort. The BF Goodrich offroad tires
are in great condition, and add an additional level of ruggedness.
This is a modern classic from a legendary era in Toyota history!
