HIGHLIGHTS: Survivor Car! Low Mileage: Just 51,400 Actual Miles!
Unrestored, largely original 350ci V8 Engine 3-Speed Automatic
Transmission BODY OVERVIEW: This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is
a beautiful and authentic survivor, having covered just 51,400
actual miles. In its original, unrestored condition, it offers a
rare glimpse into the past. With its family-friendly 4-door
configuration, this Malibu provides an intriguing blend of
practicality and nostalgia. Sitting on a set of rally wheels and
new Cooper Cobra tires, this thing looks great! Additionally, the
original steel wheels and wheel covers are included. The body has
weathered the years gracefully, though dings and imperfections are
present. Please note that there is some visible corrosion behind
the rear wheels, as seen in the photos, but otherwise this car is a
remarkably clean for a vehicle that has not seen a restoration in
its 54 years on the road! PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: This Chevelle
Malibu is wearing what appears to be an older repaint of its
original two-tone colors (Mulsanne Blue and Antique White). There
are flaws in the paint that are to be expected with an older
repaint, all badges and chrome are present and in good condition.
As a whole, the paint shows well, but should be considered ""driver
quality."" We have done our best to represent the paint condition
accurately in the photos. INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior
of this Malibu remains largely in its original state, echoing the
classic design aesthetics of the early '70s. The cabin retains the
authentic feel of a bygone era, with blue cloth & vinyl seats, blue
carpet, blue doors, and a blue dash, something you certainly won't
see on a family sedan these days! The original steering wheel,
gauges, and vents really makes this Chevelle a true time capsule.
The original stereo has been long replaced with an Audiovox
cassette deck. The driver's seat does need some love as it has a
temporary cover on it beneath which is some exposed foam. Much like
the exterior, when dealing with a car that has not seen a
restoration, some flaws are to be anticipated and this Chevelle
presents well! Overall, the interior is in remarkable original
condition and wear is consistent with a car that likely made a lot
of short trips. MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood lies ol'
reliable, a 350ci V8 engine. This powerplant offers the performance
expected from a classic Chevrolet small block, delivering a balance
of power and drivability. As is often the case with a car that
hasn't been taken apart, the engine is surprisingly quiet and
smooth. This car fires up extremely easily, even in cold weather,
and has adequate power for a car this size. The 3-speed automatic
transmission allows for smooth and effortless shifting, making this
Malibu a joy to drive. The factory-optional power steering works as
it should, and this Chevelle can truly be driven with one
finger--it's that easy! Manual drum brakes aren't everyone's taste,
but this car stops well. This is an Idaho car and one thing to note
is the heater plug to keep the car in top shape through the winter
months. Though no longer necessary, the coolant heater is a cool
piece of history tied to this vehicle! This is a turn-key car ready
to cruise today. WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: This 1972
Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu with only 51,400 actual miles is a
captivating piece of automotive history. It offers an authentic,
unmodified experience, allowing you to step back in time and
appreciate the enduring appeal of this classic--and with four
doors, you can do it with the whole family! The 350ci V8 engine
provides reliable power, and the 4-door configuration adds a
practical touch to the nostalgia. Plus it's a nice reminder that
not everything was a muscle car back in the day! WHAT YOU MIGHT
HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: Buyers seeking a fully restored,
showroom-condition vehicle might find the patina and general signs
of age on this Chevelle Malibu less appealing. However, for those
who value originality and history, these features add to the car's
charm. If you are looking for a car to win the top prizes at a car
show then you should probably pass on this one--this is a car to be
driven and enjoyed. DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? This car is ready to
cruise! Buyers should note that the driver's rear door sticks, and
the wiper switch is loose in the dash (though the wipers do work).
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle
Malibu is a gem for seasoned collectors and new classic car owners
alike--anyone who appreciates unrestored, original classics at an
affordable price point. This car would be a good fit for anyone
looking for something you don't see at most car shows, or anyone
looking to haul around their buddies or their family in style.
