It's not easy to find a classic muscle car that combines sheer curb
appeal with such a stellar assembly of top-tier mechanical
components like this 1969 Chevrolet Nova 396 Restomod. Dressed in
high-impact Black Cherry paint, this is one sharp ride. The paint
sports a nice shine, and the accompanying silver stripes are no
mere decals but are painted on. In addition to the standout color,
the exterior details that make for a properly finished restoration
have also been covered, leaving this Chevy with clean and level
front and rear bumpers, body trim that looks great, and uniformly
even panel gaps from front to back, allowing the doors on both
sides to close with a reassuring "thud".
Climb in and you'll see that the interior is looking sharp as well.
The front bucket seats provide plenty of support, and they bracket
a clean aftermarket center console that features a B&M shifter
beckoning you to grab hold and put this Chevy through its paces. Up
front, a Grant steering wheel is perched on a tilting column, and
the factory gauges just beyond it display their readings through
clear, easily readable lenses while being joined by a quartet of
aftermarket counterparts at the front of the console, along with a
Summit tachometer at the top of a clean, uncracked dash pad. An
Audiovox AM/FM/Cassette stereo is also standing by to offer you a
selection of period-appropriate audio options.
Plenty of power lurks under the hood in the form of a 396
cubic-inch V8 that's been armed with a bevy of high-quality
mechanical upgrades, including Keith Black dome pistons, a
high-rise Edelbrock intake manifold, a Comp 280 cam, 427 Corvette
heads, and a steel crank. The enhanced engine is fed via MSD
electronic fuel injection to give it both increased adjustability
and all-weather dependability, and it exhales into a pair of Hooker
long tube headers leading out to a pair of MagnaFlow mufflers that
supply a nice, deep growl at idle that turns into an outright
battle cry when accelerating. An upgraded aluminum radiator with
dual electronic fans stands by at the front of the engine
compartment to keep temperatures under control. The addition of
subframe connectors gives this classic Chevy excellent structural
rigidity under pressure.
