Here is a dramatic-looking 1974 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Tribute
muscle/sports car. The Buccaneer Red looks mesmerizing and is a
highly sought-after color among Trans Am enthusiasts. Its stance,
paired with chrome rims, looks amazing, and of course, the shaker
hood, fender vents, ground effects, and rear spoiler all add to its
eye appeal. Both the front and rear ends are in great condition,
with solid bumpers that keep the Trans Am Tribute looking
period-correct. The small amount of chrome trim present is just
enough to balance the exterior color and make it look just
right.
The interior is no different-mostly black, with shiny accents that
break up the solid color nicely. The front bucket seats are a mix
of vinyl and cloth and remain in good condition, with the door
panels following suit. In front of the driver's seat is where most
of the shine appears: an aftermarket polished-steel steering wheel
with a black rim, a shiny stock-appearing gauge cluster, and
stock-style gauges set the dashboard off just right. A Pioneer
AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo with remote is paired up with an Orion sound
system with subwoofers and amplifiers. In the center console sits a
Hurst ratchet shifter along with the power window controls.
Firebird floor mats keep the well-fitted carpet nice and clean. All
door jambs, sills, and weather stripping are tidy and in good
shape.
The engine bay is equally impressive, featuring billet aluminum
hood hinges, alternator, A/C pump, and other shiny dress-up pieces.
A serpentine wide-belt setup drives the accessories. Cooling is
handled by a Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. At
the heart of this machine is a 455 cubic-inch engine topped with
Edelbrock Aluminum heads, an Edelbrock aluminum intake, and a
Holley 4-barrel carburetor. Power is transferred through a TH400
3-speed automatic transmission to a Currie 9-inch rear axle with
3.25 rear gears.
The suspension setup uses RideTech adjustable components and has
subframe connectors. Up front are tubular A-arms and air shocks,
while the rear features a triangulated 4-link with airbags and
shocks. This Trans Am rides on 19-inch front rims with 235/30ZR19
tires, and massive 20-inch rear rims with 345/30ZR20 tires. Behind
them are Wilwood power disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors
for ultimate stopping power. And for the perfect muscle car
soundtrack, Hedman shorty manifolds feed a dual-exhaust system with
Borla mufflers.
