Vehicle Description
This is a 1968 Shelby GT 350 –It is not the original motor but is original transmission and rear end, Shelby serial number 02004. The base vehicle was built by Ford and then shipped to Shelby Automotive for finishing. The original Ford VIN and door warranty tags are retained with a unique Shelby VIN. The Shelby VIN plate is on the front driver’s side inner fender as placed there by Shelby Automotive. All identification tags, Shelby VIN, body buck, dash VIN and door warranty tag are on car.
The original door warranty tag codes for this vehicle are as follows: Body 63B – Fastback with deluxe interior. Color A – Raven Black, Trim5A – Black knitted bucket seats, Axle 8-350 standard axle ratio with W – automatic C4 transmission, 26B – scheduled for build February 26, 1968. This Shelby is listed in the Shelby American Automobile Club World Registry with clean history.
Produced at Ford’s Metuchen, NJ assembly plant and then shipped to Shelby Automotive in Southfield, MI for completion and then shipped to Fuller Ford Inc., Cincinnati, OH. The exterior was repainted original Raven Black in a base coat clear coat with Gold stripes painted on and clear coated. The black interior is original with exception of carpet. Shipped originally from Shelby with Shelby full wheel covers that are now changed to Shelby after-market mags. Overall body integrity is excellent, panel fit, straightness and alignment very good. The underneath of the car is clean and has some undercoating. Windshield, side window and rear glass are in good condition with no cracks or substantial scratches. All Shelby exterior equipment and trim are intact. The grill fog lights are the correct Lucas Square Eight model. The rear sequential taillight turn signals have been upgraded to LED for safety and work excellent.
The engine compartment has a few personal changes: Chrome, Wire conduit, Holley carb and manual oil gauge plus long-tube headers All power steering units and hoses were rebuilt by Choco Stang in western IL.
The interior has the original dash pad and is in good condition. The dash gauge bezel along with dash trim components are in very good condition. The speedometer and tach are the correct 140 MPH and 8K calibrations. The tilt steering wheel is intact and correct with Shelby Cobra center identification. All gauges, except clock, work correctly. The original Shelby console with embossed snake logo is in place. The console gauges are the original Stewart Warner units, labeled oil and alternator, and both work properly.
The door panels are in very good condition with the correct metal grills and integrated courtesy lights. The fold down rear seat assembly is intact, operates correctly and the chrome trim is in good condition. The rear interior panels are intact and uncut as are the front kick panels. The roll bar, inertia reels, shoulder harnesses and all seat belts are in place. The Shelby comes with a full Marti-Report.
