Vehicle Description
When you're Jack Roush, sometimes you just want to build a car for
yourself. The result is this 2008 Ford Mustang Roush Stage 3 Black
Jack, one of only 100 built. The name is a mouthful, but you get
supercharged power, upgraded suspension and brakes, and that
sinister all-black paint job that practically pushes other cars out
of the way as you're hammering down the highway.
Black was obviously the only color available on the Black Jack, and
we have to say that the Mustang wears it better than most. The
aggressive look comes partly from the Mustang's already awesome
look combined with a Roush body kit that adds a deeper chin
spoiler, side skirts, rear spoiler, and custom rear valence with
exhaust cut-outs. There's also a hood scoop that calls out the
supercharger underneath and if you look closely, you'll even see a
satin black strip running down the center. Most folks will be too
amazed to ask questions, but those who do look closely will see
that neat little emblem on the front fender and the special Stage 3
gas cap out back signifying that this is no garden-variety Mustang.
With just 20,458 original miles, it's obviously been well-kept, and
the black paint shows extremely well with only a few minor signs of
use. This is still a car we'd love to call our own.
Inside you get black leather (what else) and a few special touches
that were all part of Jack's dream Mustang. Embroidered sport seats
are supportive and comfortable and it's easy to get comfortable
behind that fat three-spoke steering wheel. Other upgrades include
a custom Hurst shifter, carbon fiber dash appliques, white-faced
gauges with Stage 3 callouts, as well as a few Jack Roush
signatures that are a big part of a limited edition's appeal. All
the other Mustang features made the transition untouched, including
cold A/C, power windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, cruise control,
and a kickin' AM/FM/CD stereo. We dig Jack's dedication to making
the car faster and it shows inside where there's no extraneous
gear, just the stuff you need for the serious business of driving.
The trunk is standard Mustang, so it's got plenty of room, and this
car also carries the ultra-cool and very expensive custom Roush
tool kit built into the trunk lid. You're going to love it!
Power comes primarily from that big honkin' supercharger sitting on
top of Ford's 4.6 liter V8 engine. Called the "Roushcharger," it
delivers enough boost to generate more than 430 horsepower and 400
pounds of torque. Custom tuning means it runs and drives just like
a stocker and it's docile enough that your grandmother could drive
it every day and not know the monster that lives within. Other
goodies include a full Stage 3 suspension with a wheel hop
reduction kit, a custom exhaust that sounds magnificent, and a few
under-hood dress-up items, not the least of which is the polished
supercharger case. There's another Jack Roush signature under the
hood and it's got the brakes to keep it under control, with 14-inch
2-piece rotors and 4-piston calipers up front and custom slotted
rear rotors. Roush also provides a set of black wheels that look
nasty and are shod with sticky BFG rubber that's one step removed
from being racing slicks.
Fully documented, this is #51 out of 100 Black Jack Mustangs built.
With the original window sticker showing a price of $56,874, this
car represents one heck of a performance bargain today. Call
