This truck had a frame off restoration completed in 2008. It has been stored in a climate controlled building since then. The truck was restored to stock condition except for the wheels, radio/speakers, and I added a split manifold with a four barrel carburetor. I still have the original manifold and carburetor for the truck (which comes with it). The straight 6-cylinder 270 cu. in. engine was professionally examined and any worn parts were replaced. The engine was then painted in the original GMC orange. The entire body was taken off the frame with each part painted individually and then reassembled on the frame which was stripped and painted black. The bed of the truck has oak boards made by a custom cabinet shop. The boards have been protected with linseed oil. The heat works great and of course these trucks never had air conditioning. Several items on the truck were replaced including brakes, master cylinder, clutch, tires, gas tank, generator was rebuilt, radiator was rebuilt, seat was rebuilt, etc. The only thing that does not work on this truck is the odometer. The odometer stopped working at 9.9 miles after I reset it. The speedometer, oil pressure gauge, and fuel gauge all work.
