of originality and appears to have been very well cared for over
many generations JVC receiver with AM/FM/CD and a USB port behind
the glovebox door There is nothing subtle about this car, so if
you're looking for anonymity; look elsewhere. This 1959 Cadillac
Coupe de Ville was big fin Americana style and flamboyance at its
pinnacle and you can check it out here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars.
This is a real J code hard top Coupe De Ville and the best part is
this is a genuine factory black Cadillac! Do not be fooled by the
numerous color changed to black Cadillacs offered for sale
currently, factory black cars were low production and this one is
genuine! This 1959 De Ville comes out of Don Maddox's personal
Cadillac collection. Don is very well known in the Cadillac
community and has built many fine examples over the years. Highly
regarded for his big fin pink Cadillac restorations and his
memorable Christmas cards featuring these wonderful and stylish
cars! Many of these Cadillacs can still be seen at the annual
Crusin the Coast down at the Gulf Coast with their current owners.
Also be sure to check out the popular Cadillac blog "King Daddy
Caddy" that has featured many of Don's gorgeous Cadillacs over the
years! Dressed in the most sought after Cadillac exterior color,
factory correct Ebony Black (code 10), this car's paint and trim
are in overall very good condition especially considering that all
the trim and chrome pieces are in original condition. This car
overall is very original and never has been restored except for one
repaint and new correct seats fabric. While not concourse quality
(but excellent candidate for one), this car makes a stylish
statement wherever you go! The E-Z Eye tinted glass panels are in
overall very good order but there are some minor blemishes on back
window and another minor one on the windshield. The car's
windshield wipers are inoperable. This Caddy rolls on Firestone
radial whitewalls, sized 235/75R15 at all four corners with the
correct factory wheel covers. The massive and original chrome
bumpers are brilliant overall but evidence some minor blemishes,
notable on the right lower front bumper. Under that large black
hood is a very tidy engine bay with a 390 CID OHV V-8 engine with
cast-iron block, five main bearings, hydraulic valve lifters and
Carter AFB four-barrel carburetor with 10.5:1 compression producing
325HP. Backing that engine is a Hydramatic four-speed automatic
transmission with a 2.94 rear end. Driver convenience features
include power steering, power brakes and power windows. Inside, the
recently correct reupholstered black. white and silver (code 40)
seats are attractive and look fantastic. The car has no seatbelts
(never was equipped) but the front seat is powered and has six
different positions. The complementing black carpet is in very good
order, while the contrasting white headliner looks plush. The
two-tone instrument panel and matching two-spoke steering wheel are
in very good condition, as are the inner door panels, which echo
the seat pattern. The mirror glass and shift lever look good.
Completing the interior is a factory AM "Wonderbar" radio, the
first automatic "station-seeking" radio tuner of its kind. There is
a modern JVC receiver with AM/FM/CD and a USB port behind the
glovebox door. The 1959Cadillacis remembered for its huge sharp
tailfins with dual bullet taillights, two distinctive rooflines and
roof pillar configurations, new jewel-like grille patterns and
matching deck lid beauty panels. In 1959, Series 62models were
moved to their own series, theSeries 6200. DeVilles and
two-doorEldoradosbecame theSeries 6300andSeries
6400,respectively, though they all, including the four-door
Eldorado Brougham (which was moved from theSeries 70toSeries
6900), shared the same 130-inch wheelbase. The DeVille Series had
script nameplates on the rear fenders. Standard equipment included
power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, back-up
lamps, two-speed windshield wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview
mirror, vanity mirror, oil filter, power windows and two way power
seats. Plain fender skirts covered the rear wheels and four-doors
were available in either four-window or six-window hardtop
configurations. More than 53,000 DeVilles were sold in their first
year as a separate series, accounting for roughly 37 percent of all
Cadillacs sold. Competition to this Cadillac in 1959 included the
Chrysler New Yorker two-door hardtop, the Continental Mark VI Coupe
and the Lincoln Premiere Coupe. This car is currently located at
our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the
odometer shows 48,835 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean
and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! CLICK HERE TO
