Offered here is a rare opportunity to a own a nicely restored,
police confiscated mid-year Corvette Convertible. Proceeds from the
sale will go to training further investigations into vehicle theft
and misrepresentation. This particular car has had all identifying
numbers removed and was confiscated when the invalid VIN on the
dashboard matched another 1966 Corvette. Someone did an excellent
job at hiding the cars original identity and an even better job at
putting the car back together. This Corvette is now presented with
a clean Michigan assembled 2017 title that matches the 17-digit VIN
on the inner driver door. It has been officially retitled and can
be retitled in any state.
This 2nd Gen Vette is finished in Ermine White, which matches the
972 color code on the trim tag. It has a clean Black vinyl (STD)
interior with a new black soft top. Although the numbers have been
rubbed off the block, the 350hp valve covers and the 6500
tachometer redline elude to a L79 327ci V8 under the hood mated to
a 4-speed manual gearbox. The car starts, runs, and drives
exceptionally well, with some awesome exhaust notes from the
period-correct side pipes. The Corvette emblem on the corner of the
hood, the die cast grill, and dash knobs all indicate this is a
1966 model. Other features include an original Corvette hood,
original Holley Aluminum Carburetor and Intake for L79, non-OEM one
piece front end, correct quarters with banding strips, power
steering, no power brakes, power windows, new brake calipers and
rotors, original LOF tinted windshield, and functioning analog
clock. It remains rust-free and is ready for a new owner to enjoy
it.
Again, this is a sealed bid sale. Bids will be received until 5PM
EST on Thursday, July 27. Please print out the second photo or
e-mail us to request a bid form. Thank you for looking and happy
bidding!
