This car most recently resided in the far Northern reaches of WI. In fact, Lake Superior was not a five minute drive. But before that, it was not a Northern car. It was built as an air-conditioned convertible and was originally white.
It has held up very well. The most recent owner restored it about twenty years ago. He drove it a fair bit, so it has some touched up chips, nicks and small imperfections. It is very solid with great floors and a rot-free frame.
The top has always been white. The glass was tinted from new. The interior has always been red.
The options are power steering, power top, automatic transmission, door edge guards, exterior moldings, top boot and Magnum 500 rally wheels. It now has radial white-walled tires.
The 301 Wildcat 300 V8 starts and runs great. The two speed automatic shifts properly. It will leave it’s mark during extended storage as the convertor drains into the pan.
The body is in good condition. The panels are straight, there was minimal repairs before paint. The moldings are in great shape, as are the bumpers.
The top is nice. It has a soft, zippered rear window. The boot is like new. The top motor and mechanism work perfectly.
The interior is also nice. The carpet and upholstery were replaced. The door panels and padded dash are in decent shape, but not perfect. The Skylark floor mats are a nice touch.
The odometer reads right at 70,000. These are said to be actual miles. While I can’t prove this, the condition of the car certainly testifies that the mileage could be actual.
The features all work with exception of the AM radio. There are manuals and booklets in the glove box. Some extra parts join the factory jack, spare tire and hardware in the trunk. The doors lock via key. This car is ready to be enjoyed.
Being from the South kept this car from deteriorating. Being in caring ownership kept it running and looking good. You will car show it and cruise it with confidence.
