stopping by. IMPORTANT DETAILS: Of all 14,531 Corvettes produced
for 1962, only 13% were ordered with the option code #582 "Fuel
Injection." You are looking at what appears to be a very early
production ex-fuel injected 1962 Corvette. The VIN production
sequence shows number 647. That is a September 1961 assembly date.
Looking at available 1962 Corvette production data it shows only
384 new model year Corvettes were produced in September 1961.
Considering its early production number this 1962 Corvette appears
to be one of the first "Fuelies" produced for that model year. Is
this '62 Vette historically significant? We'll let you ponder that
question. The current owner purchased this Vette in 1977. It is
located in MICHIGAN. SPECIFICATIONS as reported by the owner: This
1962 Corvette has other nice features such as: Hardtop and new tan
soft top. AM radio currently replaced by an aftermarket unit. Four
speed transmission. Positraction axle. The 327 c.i. engine is a
replacement. The 16" BFG radial tires have a lot of tread
remaining. The extra parts that come with this 1962 Corvette
include a modified Rochester Fuel Injection unit #7017360 with
matching intake manifold. An early tach drive distributor.
Distributor shield (not for F.I.). Very nice original set of
factory correct 4 small hub caps. CONDITION RATING: The owner rates
the overall cosmetic condition of his Corvette as good driver
quality (rating it in the 5 to 6 range). The paint was applied 1987
and is showing its age. The chrome and stainless are in good
condition as is the glass. The interior appears original and in
need of some restoration. The undercarriage is solid and has never
been restored. The body panels appear to be factory original. The
owner reports the Corvette runs strong and tracks straight down the
highway. The Corvette receives annual maintenance (lube, oil,
filter) and is driven very few miles. The fuel tank and sending
