Vehicle Description
For 1955, Ford gave its line of cars a face lift with a panoramic
windshield and upgraded the power to the "6" and added another
larger, borrowed from the "T-bird", V-8. Some of the models names
were also changed as the Crestline became the Fairlane. Within the
Fairlane model line was the extraordinary Crown Victoria. Its
outstanding features include the glass top and chrome "basket
handle" connecting both "B" pillars which was borrowed from the
Mercury XM-800 show car.
For auction is a fine example of this eye catching style. Partially
restored in 2005, it has gone 5,000 miles and still has the
original motor. It is a stunning two-tone car in the popular
combination of Torch Red and White. The theme of red and white
continues throughout the interior with vinyl seats.
