Pontiac Tempest. LeMans was a model name that was applied to both
compact and intermediate-sized vehicles before being replaced by
the Bonneville in 1982. Showcasing much more luxurious trimmings
and a sportier design than the Tempest, the LeMans stayed in place
as the top-line version as the Tempest was upsized and restyled
from a compact to an intermediate-size vehicle."

For sale by owner is this 1969 Lemans convertible. As the story
goes, after a minor fender bender in 1970, the car was placed in
the garage and remained there for over 40 years. The odometer reads
19,263 and is believed to be correct, but the car is being sold as
mileage exempt because the owner has no documentation. It was
acquired from the owners uncle in 2011 and was gone over to make it
road worthy. The engine was completely rebuilt to factory
specifications, it has a new water pump, fuel pump and a rebuilt
carburetor. New brakes, brake lines, belts, hoses, tires and
exhaust system with glass pack mufflers were also installed. The
interior and convertible top are original showing very minimal wear
even on the gas and brake pedals.

This is a nice, very low mileage driver quality car that runs
great.
Included in the sale will be the original paperwork from the
selling dealer, some receipts for the recent work performed and a
few photos of the car when it was removed from the garage.

Please remember that this car is 48 years old and not perfect. The
paint is driver quality and does have visible flaws, there is a
hole in the back of the front passenger seat and the drivers remote
mirror lever is missing.
