For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z28 in Syosset, New York

Details:

Green 1969 RS Z/28 (with Protect- o - Plate) Car was restored by Legendary Motor Car in Aug 2007. Over 1500 hours of labor.

Engine – built with all new parts Dec 2011 by PCHS Racing Engines, Bohemia NY. The foundation is a Dart Iron Eagle Block with raised cam (.391) option, 4 bolt main caps. Block was CNC machined to yield 414 cubic inches. The bore is 4.1655 and the stroke is 3.80. The heads are Air Flow Research 245. These heads were decked to yield a 68 CC combustion chamber and 13.5 to 1 compression. The valves measure 2.125 inches on the intake side and 1.6 inches on the exhaust. The crank is a Callies Magnum XL Ultra-Light weight with 1.88 Honda rod journals. The connecting rods are Callies as well. The pistons are Diamond, which are gas ported and lightened. The tops are ceramic coated and the skirts are Moly coated. Trend performance wrist pins and push rods (3/8 .135 wall) are used as well. The entire rotating assembly has been balanced to within ½ of a gram tolerance. The Cam shaft is a custom ground 4/7 swap solid roller from Cam Motion. The lift is 804 on the intake and 738 on the exhaust. The duration is 260 degrees on the intake and 266 on the exhaust with a 110 lobe separation. Jesel solid body tie bar roller lifters (937 diameter with 850 roller wheel) push the valves through Jesel Pro Series Shaft Rocker Arms (standard slot, with tool steel adjusters and ARP hardware). The intake ratio is 1.75 to 1 and the exhaust is 1.65 to 1. A Jesel belt drive connects the crank with the cam shaft. The intake manifold is an Air Flow Research Composite piece (model TXR) and a 1 inch CSR spacer sits below the custom Bob Book 1000 CFM 4150 carburetor. Star Machine vacuum pump and canister are used to help build more horse power. The ignition is all MSD with a digital 6 box, crank trigger and Pro Billet distributor. This engine made 689 horse power (1.66 per CI) and 620 ft. pounds of torque (1.5 per CI) in a totally street able package. VP 100 gas is required.

Transmission – Auto Gear 4 speed 2.56 11St gear, 1.75 2nd gear, 1.3 3rd gear and 1 4th gear.

Clutch – McLeod dual disc clutch and McLeod lightweight fly wheel

Real End – Moser 9 inch Ford with Strange 4.11 center section 31 spline axles

Suspension - Global west upper and lower control arms with Del a Lump Bushings. One inch lowered. The rear are Gulstrand leaf springs. Bilstein shocks in the front and rear. The car has custom sub frame connectors installed by Legendary Motor Car. Calvert traction bars keep the car straight. Power steering is provided by KRC Power Steering pumps through a close ratio steering box.

Brakes – Front are 13 Bear slotted with 2 piston calipers and the rear are Wilwood 9 inch. A hydra boost system is utilized to provide incredible stopping performance.

Fuel System – Ricks Hot rod shop stainless steel 18 gallon tank with an Aeromotive in tank fuel pump (Stealth 340) the fuel system incorporates a return which is controlled by an Aeromotive fuel regulator.

Wheels – Budnik GTX 5x4.75 spoke pattern Front are 17x7 4.25 inch back space and the rear are 17x8 4.25 inch back space. Tires are Goodyear Eagle F-1 255 45 ZR 17 front and rear.
