This is a beautiful example of an iconic American muscle car - the 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS. A rare SS car, this Nova has a built 383 stroker V8 engine up front and a 12-bolt out in the rear. Here at Custom Classics Auto Restoration we took this Nova and gave her a fresh coat of silver paint that has been sanded and buffed to an incredibly smooth and glossy finish. Also, we added a new stock interior that really completes the car. This Nova will definitely turn some heads now at local shows or weekend cruises. It's fast off the line, stops on a dime, and is primed to take home some trophies on the show strip! Now is your chance to own a pure-bred American muscle car and see if you can tame this rumbling beast. Take a look underneath first. The floor pans are blacked out as they should be on a restored car and are as solid as a rock. The nice body mounts on the front cradle keep things from flexing, and with several new steering components installed, this will keep the car between the lines. With a new master brake cylinder, front disc brakes, and rear factory drum brakes, that's all the stopping you'll ever need. The Richmond Super T10 4-speed manual transmission and linkages shift nice and quick; the 12 bolt rear end slams the power to the ground - perfect for any drag strip. The Hedman Competition ceramic-coated headers dump down into 2.5" aluminized exhaust with new Flow Master mufflers for an awesome ground-shaking rumble. New leaf springs out back are joined by front Monroe shocks and a set of Lakewood Performer shocks out back. The result is a mean looking stance that's done just right! Stand up, take a step back and look over the exterior. That glass smooth finish in Cortez Silver goes perfectly with the black vinyl top. A lot of new chrome and stainless trim, a mint grille, new tail panel and taillight set, new lenses and bulbs everywhere, and new windshield glass doesn't let the bodywork down! The body gaps are great, the doors, trunk and hood close with authority and precision. The car rides on brand new customer ordered 17" billet wheels at all four corners with 235/45 front and 255/45R17 rear Ecsta Kumho Sport tires. You'd drop way more than two grand if you wanted to duplicate that rolling stock! Other neat touches, like the optional window frame moldings, really dress up the overall look. Regardless of what motor made its way into the subframe, the Nova always stayed true to its economical roots. No place was that more evident than the interior. The inside of this '70 model stays true to that formula with only the bare essentials in place. Seating is provided by a nicely recovered black vinyl bench with simple black door panels featuring an off white applique strip at either side. From the driver's seat, a showroom quality dashboard places nothing more than a speedometer and fuel gauge and factory tachometer in the cluster. The previous owner chose to add a set of aftermarket gauges (volt, oil, and water) to the underside of the dash just to keep an eye on that high dollar engine. At either side of the cluster, there are controls for items like the ventilation system, headlight switch and push-button AM/FM radio and a nice JVC head unit that's been hidden nicely in the glove box for some real sound. A Factory SS two spoke steering wheel with a black Chevrolet horn buttons at either end & the lockable steering column. Bright pieces such as the window cranks and door handles look brand new as does the headliner. At ground level, fresh black carpet it protected by floor mats, and new fresh door-sill plates. To the rear of the cabin, a utilitarian trunk retains its utilitarian factory style and perfect condition with the correct jack and spare tire in place. While the exterior is beautiful, and the interior is cool, it's the engine compartment that steals the show! Where to begin?! The 383 stroker is best known for its awesome delivery of power and reliability. From the Spectre air cleaner with Chevy Bow Tie on top, down to the oil pan... she is clean, detailed and ready to produce some horsepower for your fun driving experience. A Holley carb sits on an Edelbrock rpm Nascar Edition intake manifold. Matching satin black Chevrolet aluminum valve covers with T-bolt clamps further enlighten the top end, while an aluminum water pump & billet pulleys help dress up the engine bay area. Taylor Spiro Pro spark plug wires, with an MSD Blaster 2 Coil and MSD distributor help bring a strong spark to the engine to fire the cylinders in perfect unison. All new hoses and heater hoses move the fluids to this detailed 383ci engine. A new period correct radiator in satin black keeps the theme of "all business" under the hood. A Tripac electric pusher fan supplies the airflow, to keep things cool as they should be. A new brake master cylinder are also a nice touch to finish everything under the hood. The beautifully smooth and fresh paint on the underside of the hood reflect even more shine; Hey did I mention this beauty also comes with its correct SS GM hood too, and it was painted at the same time as the rest of the car here at Custom Classics, so you're sure to have a perfect match if you choose to change the hood over back to the stock one. Whew! All that, and did you catch the part about how it fries the tires on demand? Show car that it may be, but this one was built to drive too! Chevy fanatics, this is the car for you! Clean, sorted, ready to win shows, and serious performance without cutting corners... how could anyone say no? Power steering, power disc brakes, 383 Stroker power, all wrapped in killer looks! There's no way you could replicate this car with this quality for what you'll pay to own it. Call us now and get this Nova out on the street where it belongs! Want to trade?
