Vehicle Description
There's just something about the handsome lines of a pre-war
business coupe that make great custom cars. Somewhere between the
flowing fenders and a moonshiner history lies an attraction that we
can't help but make all our own. That's why there has been a solid
investment in this 1937 Chevrolet coupe to deliver both big power
and comfort. With a crate V8, overdrive transmission, custom A/C
interior, and an overall award-worth presentation, this is
everything you love about the custom culture in one easy
cruiser.
This car is rolling artwork. There was a ton spent on masterfully
blending the two-tone sunburst orange and champagne. We especially
love how pinstriping and bodylines are utilized to keep these
intertwined in unique ways - like how front fenders and rear ones
each feature a different color. You can tell there was a large
investment in a professional hand applying these colors just by the
way the sunlight flows seamlessly over the whole car. The whole
package does a great job highlighting the curvaceous design. It
also is key that the OEM steel has been treated to a first-rate
restoration, with a lot of extra care taken in getting the details
right. And then you also can't help but gravitate toward the custom
elements. The custom trunk pinstriping, bright 17-inch chrome
wheel, and little Chevy bow ties in the headlights - yes, this
whole car was designed to impress.
Inside it feels like no expense was spared to give this
businessman's coupe plenty of modern convenience. The tan leather
seats have a great ostrich inserts. These guidelines are repeated
on the doors, custom overhead console, and even the trunk...
Overall it has the kind of consistency that tells everyone this is
a thoughtful build. As the driver, you get the comfort of a
stainless steel tilt column attached to a stylish chrome wheel with
ostrich grip. Your full VDO gauge package has a classic look while
providing all the vital info. This Chevy was built to keep you and
your passenger in complete modern comfort with an AM/FM/CD stereo
in the overhead console, and the ice-cold air conditioning is
running modern R-134a for easy servicing. And yes, you even get a
CB radio, which should be another hint that this custom build is
great for long trips.
Grab your sunglasses before opening the hood. With so much spent on
the interior and exterior, you'll be glad the engine bay is ready
to show off, too. Not only do you have bright elements like the air
topper, valve covers, alternator, compressor, and much more, but
also the firewall has been mirrored so you instantly double the
amount of shine! And more than just look great, this is a crate 350
cubic-inch motor with Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor is rated at
290 horsepower right out of the box. And you get all the right
growl from the glasspack style dual exhaust. While this custom has
the right bark and bite to match its hot rod style, what really
makes it a cut-above are the thoughtful elements. It feels great on
the road thanks to a Fatman independent front end and thick sway
bars front & rear. Plus, the 700r4 four-speed automatic is perfect
at finding the right driving gear, including the highway-friendly
overdrive. Add in power steering, front disc brakes, and the modern
grip of Kumho tires, and you'll happily cruise this one to car
shows near and far.
This is a quality build that's worth all the extra attention it
draws (we even have its magazine feature article.) A vehicle that's
