An Exceptional Example of a US 911 Carrera Rarely Seen in This
Condition
9114400523 was completed in June of 1974 in special ordered Gemini
Blue Metallic (X3) over Midnight Leatherette (11) upholstery,
draped in optional equipment, such as: U.S. specs, Koni Shock
instead of Boge, Engine Compartment Light, Tinted Glass All Around,
Electric Sunroof, Electric Windows, Fog Lights and Pirelli Tires.
It sold new on August 29, 1974 to Mr. Castellanos of Seattle,
Washington through University Porsche-Audi and is believed to have
resided along the Pacific Coast for the entirety of its life. Under
its most recent stewardship, while residing in Berkeley,
California, the Carrera was entrusted to Porsche specialist Freddie
Hernandez of Vintage Sportscar Restorations in Phoenix, Oregon for
a complete restoration of the vehicle to like new condition. Over
the year-long processes, every detail was painstakingly recorded
from arrival to delivery - with a large database accompanying the
Carrera containing both visual and written record (totaling
$129,300) of parts and work performed. Autobahn Interiors handled
the stitching, Elephant Racing supplied suspension components,
while many of the body and greenhouse rubbers, along with several
trim pieces and metal are authentic Porsche. Verified by photos,
the expert bodywork performed by Mr. Hernandez and team is simply
remarkable, with ZERO shortcuts in the process - any corrosion or
pitting discovered, even in the most remote unseen corners were
painstakingly removed and new metal properly tacked for a
mesmerizing finish that will certainly last another 40 years.
The 911 now displays 45,400 miles and performs effortlessly in all
road conditions. It truly is as an absolute pleasure to drive and
admire. It comes complete with VIN matched original owner's manual
in vinyl sleeve, including the 1974 emissions book and full-sized
dealer brochure, tool kit, date matched spare wheel/tire and a
jack. For the ultimate period look, the 25th anniversary decal
affixed to the passenger's rear quarter window was preserved during
restoration and pairs well to the incredibly rare Blaupunkt Porsche
cassette deck and new Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires. This particular
Carrera is a special car to find in the right colors, right
options, complete with original accessories and suitable for the
most astute Porsche purists and admirers alike.
