Vehicle Description
Robert Wehe Estate - Sparks Nevada 1958 Ford 500 Fairlane
Retractable Hardtop P2T Two Tone Paint Turquoise & Colonial white
Interior matching turquoise & white The Skyliner should not be
mistaken for a Sunliner, which was the standard soft-top
convertible. The Skyliner is a hardtop car with a metal roof that
raises up, then folds & retracts into the trunk compartment and
transforms itself into a roadster convertible. It was literally an
electro-mechanical engineering wonder in its day. Even today,
people still stare in amazement as they watch it operate. Ford
built these Skyliners only 3 years; 1957, 58 & 59. They are rarely
seen today. Occasionally, you may see a '57 or a '59 but it is
extremely unusual to see a '58. This one, being the rare 1958, was
the first year to use 4 individual headlamps and the only year ever
to have 4 individual tail lamps. Engine 332 v8 & 4 bbl carburetor
backed with a 3 speed Cruiseomatic. Masterguide power steering, Two
tone turquoise & white.
