Vehicle Description
Built for a total of seven years from 1955 through 1962, the MGA
was designed by Syd Enever and was done so at the start of 1951. It
was a body on frame design and used the B-series engine from the
Magnette, the convertible had no exterior door handles and was
offered with wire or steel wheels. It was equipped with the 1489 cc
engine that produced 68 HP. The early cars tested in at nearly 100
MPH and could accelerate from 0-60 in 16 seconds with an average
fuel economy of 26 MPG.
This excellent example has been restored with driveability and
safety in mind. The cars original steel wheels were replaced with
knock off wires wrapped in 4 new tires. For cooling a external oil
cooler was added along with electronic ignition. The generator was
replaced with an alternator from a MGB and the front end is MGB
along with Disc Brakes. All new suspension parts and bushings at
that time as well. The radiator has been replaced and new Radio has
been added. This car starts, runs and drives excellent and has one
of the best tops you can buy. This car is ready to be enjoyed and
toured.
