Originally produced in 1969 and 1970 as a direct response to the
SCCA success of the Chevrolet Camaro, the 1970 Ford Mustang Boss
302 is an infamous example of a Trans Am homologation model. There
were only 7,014 Boss 302s produced in those two years, and this car
is just 1 of 861 finished in Grabber Blue, and according to its
Marti Report, 1 of only 4 finished in the blue on blue
exterior/interior combination, making it extremely rare.
Engine was built with all correct Ford DOZ coded Ford parts,
original Boss 302 4 bolt main , Cleveland staggered heads with
large ports, not stock Windor head, solid lifter cam, Boss 302
forged steel crankshaft with crossed drilled journals, original
Boss 302 aluminum finned 8 bolt valve covers, Windsor motors used 6
bolt valve covers, original free flow Boss 302 exhaust manifolds,
original replacement TRW pistons 10.5 to 1 compression with
original Boss 302 rods, original aluminum Boss 302 hi rise intake
manifold and correct orignal Boss 302 780 cfm DOZ Holley
Carburetor, original Ford Boss 302 shaker hood system, all original
Ford Shaker parts, car was restored and built with all information
for the Donald Farr book Mustang Boss 302 under my supervision for
correctness,
Not a frame off off but blasted down to do the body work as much as
possible and all rust addressed and replaced, car has been painted
twice to get it as correct as possible, intended to be a gorgeous
driver which it has been. All parts used were NOS or Fomoco
authorized with the majority being NOS, the car is registered in
the Boss 302 registry
The Boss 302 for sale here was built at the Metuchen factory,
originally sold out of Beacon, NY, and was fully restored about 6
years ago, including the paint, bodywork, and floors. It was
media-blasted all the way down to the frame and is a completely
rust-free car, having been owned and stored in California since its
restoration, with less than 4,000 miles put on it since completion.
It is a very highly-optioned example, including:
-the rear deck spoiler
- 4-speed manual transmission
-electric clock
-shaker hood scoop
-sport slats
-console
-power steering
- AM/8-track stereo radio
-Magnum 500 chrome wheels
-and more!
Though the car is mostly correct, it does not retain its
numbers-matching 302 motor. It has a period-correct 302 installed
with NOS parts, along with a factory tilt steering column for
easier entry and exit into the car, but comes with the original
steering column if desired. It has its original exhaust manifolds
but does not have its smog pump.
This Boss 302 comes with a copy of its original window sticker, a
copy of the Marti Report, its original owner's manual, and can be
found on the official Boss 302 registry online. Don't miss out on
the opportunity to bring home this classic today!
