We love original cars at GR Auto Gallery and this 1976 Ford Bronco
Explorer gets us a little giddy. Verbal history indicates that this
three owner Bronco was purchased new in Memphis Tennessee by an
insurance agent from Alexander Arkansas. The original owner sold
this bronco to a family in Arkansas who owned it the following 30
plus years. The truck then spent a brief time in California until
our recent acquisition.
This 1976 Bronco is an original, highly optioned, Explorer edition
and features its original Midnight Blue Metallic Paint, original
interior with original blue Explorer front to rear mat, original
seats, original steering wheel, dash etc. This Bronco is powered by
its 302 V8 engine, automatic transmission and Fords proven 4 wheel
drive system, 3.50 limited slip gearing. Options include: Quick
ratio power steering, power brakes, A/C, rear bench seat, Explorer
interior, heavy duty suspension, dual tanks, rear mounted spare
tire, etc. The overall condition of this Bronco is wonderful
original. The truck shows awesome patina throughout. The Interior
shows some wear and the seats have a few tears, but we decided to
keep everything original so not to take away the character, the
exterior paint shows some wear, fade, chips and a couple dings,
however each mark has a story behind it.
Mechanically, this Bronco fires right up, motor idles nicely and
runs smooth down the road. The steering is very easy and
responsive, the truck tracks straight down the road, the power
brakes stop true, and the suspension is tight. Both tanks operate,
all the lights a signals work, blower motor works etc. The A/C is
in tact but current is not working.
Vintage Bronco's continue to be very popular and are sought after
from parties around the globe. There timeless design with rugged
off road capability, general utility and ease of ownership continue
to drive demand for the first generation Bronco. Quality original,
unrestored examples are considered a holy grail among collectors
and enthusiasts. One would be hard pressed to find another original
bronco optioned the way this truck is offered here. Documentation
includes: Original warranty card, original owners manual, some
service records, a few photos of the vehicle in its glory days and
some owner history.
