Powered by a 4-barrel carbureted 350 CID V-8 and a three-speed automatic transmission, this powertrain is considered to be the most desirable ever put into this generation of Rivieras—and it was only available for 1979 and 1980. Adequately powered for the size of the car, it has power and smoothness far superior to the smaller displacement engines available in Rivieras produced from 1981 – 1985. This car runs and drives as well as it looks.
