When it comes to current automotive trends, nothing's hotter than the pro-touring movement. Pro-touring's blend of vintage style and modern performance creates undeniable appeal that's literally changed the face of the marketplace. And, sporting an awesome combination of old school swagger and thoroughly modern underpinnings, this sweet Nova follows the pro-touring formula perfectly. As the beneficiary of a thorough, ground-up restoration, the car has been completely reworked to include a massaged chassis, a hot small block, a tough Tremec 5-speed and incredible, chrome-laden aesthetics. If you want a hot classic that utilizes great technology to create an unforgettable driving experience, check out this killer Chevy II!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Sealed in rich red 2-stage, this slick drop-top is the beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that wrapped in late 2016. In addition to near-perfect alignment, the car's svelte body features show worthy aesthetics that are the direct result of new trim, new emblems and fresh chrome bumpers. And those striking details have been carefully married to a collection of surfaces that is much nicer than anything that rolled out of the factory. At the front of this Chevy, a guarded bumper founds a stainless grille between clean parking lights and large headlamps. Behind that grille, a familiar Cowl Induction Hood leads the eye to like-new glass, which is caged in polished trim, polished wipers and tight tan cloth. At the sides of that glass, a whittled profile hangs textured rockers and painted trim spears between polished mirrors, traditional door handles, a polished fuel cap and a full array of ornamentation. And at the back of the car, a second bumper reflects a silver valance that's bordered by ornate tail lamps.

ENGINE

Toss this pro-touring restomod's hood and you'll find 383 cubic inches of mean Chevy small block that, thanks to a 2017 rebuild, twists stout 9.8 to 1 compression into a solid 425 horsepower. At the top of that body-matched mill, a reusable, X-Stream-style air cleaner funnels wind through a coated Holley 4-barrel, which is sequenced to braided Earl's fuel lines and a coated, mechanical pump. Under that carb, a polished intake feeds lightweight aluminum heads, which hide quality roller rockers under polished, Chevrolet-branded valve covers and a polished, Chevrolet-branded breather. At the back of those heads, a Comp Xtreme Energy cam twists a proven HEI distributor, which bounces spark through pliable Packard plug wires. At the sides of that cam, coated long-tube headers make quick work of charred dinosaurs. At the front of those tubes, a chrome serpentine drive frames a coated water pump with a chrome alternator and a chrome AC compressor. And in front of that drive, a polished AutoRad radiator cycles water around quick-spinning puller fans. Virtually every facet of this Nova's fresh engine bay, which frames chrome hinges, chrome brace bars and a chrome hood latch with mirrored fenders, a mirrored block off plate and mirrored hood inserts, exists to maximize the car's performance and appearance. And items like chrome horns, polished fluid reservoirs, a chrome brake booster, a polished radiator support and a chrome-trimmed wiper motor illustrate a strict regard for details.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Behind the 383, a hydraulic clutch kicks a fresh Tremec 5-speed, which spins a familiar 10-bolt axle. That spirited drivetrain rides a massaged suspension that's supplemented with a Heidts front-clip, beefy subframe connectors and adjustable air shocks. That suspension is steadied by power rack-and-pinion steering. Power-assisted stops are provided by two discs and two drums. Spent gases traverse aluminized tubes and aggressive Flowmaster mufflers. And torque meets the pavement through attractive Boyd Coddington alloys, which spin 215/45R17 Starfire WRs in front of 215/50R17 Kenda Radials.

INTERIOR

Between the doors you'll find a stylish leather interior that, like the outside of the car, uses traditional elements to polish modern presentation. Retrofitted seats stretch tight leather hides under GT40-style grommets. In front of those seats, a padded dash centers direct-fit audio between Omega Kustom telemetry and Vintage Air climate control. Under that dash, a full-length console stashes the car's fuel gauge behind a booted Keisler shifter. And in front of the driver, a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel laps a tilting column.
