classic and muscle car business. At first glance, this handsome
1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster might appear to be a beautifully
restored original car. After all, many people put modern wheels and
tires on a classic vehicle for enhanced comfort and safety. Upon
further examination, however, you might notice the partially
concealed tips of the 3-inch mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust
system that hints at something more than a stovebolt I6. That
'something' comes in the form of an LS1 donated by a 2004 Pontiac
GTO. This already potent engine has been fortified with a set of
Patriot aluminum heads, a hotter camshaft, beautiful headers, a
ported throttle body, and a trick ram induction CAI. The copious
horsepower is then routed through a 4L60-E automatic overdrive
transmission (from same '04 GTO) with a 3200 stall speed torque
converter, then back to a 12-bolt Chevy rear end with 3.73 gears.
The fine chassis also benefits from modern upgrades including a
Mustang II front suspension with rack and pinion steering and a
ladder bar/coil over system in the back. A Wilwood 4-wheel disc
brake system inspires confidence when slowing this fleet
Fleetmaster. Inside you'll find a beautiful interior with excellent
