This famous car/truck was built by Joe(Candyman) Bailon in 1952-53. He later sold it to Horace Davi the owner of Betty Elizabeth Shampoo Co.From then on it was as the Sampoo truck.It was the world's first Ranchero.He chopped the top 3",section it 5" and made a removeable hardtop from a 4dr sedan. quiet a feat in it's day.After being stored for decades, it was restored by it's present owner.This time it was put on a modern chassis with the following.Disc brakes,700r4 trans,9" ford rear end, coil over shocks 4 bar rear,rack and pinion steering. All powered by an 1957 365c.i. Cad motor. This was all done to drive it in modern trafficThis is a well documented car. Featured in many mags over the years.
