Vehicle Description
Stk. 2278 1940 Ford Standard
When the '40 Ford rolled off the assembly line, it was a car with a
function that it performed very well - nothing fancy. Now, decades
later, this Standard coupe has received a nice restoration with
some well thought-out mechanical and cosmetic enhancements. The
owner has put just over 1,000 miles on the car since completion of
the restoration in 2015. Outside, the exterior was refinished in
Tuxedo Black and sports very nice chrome all around. The interior
has been beautifully reupholstered in pleated Burgundy leather -
seats, door cards and trunk were finished superbly. A set of
classic Dolphin Quad Gauges housed in a custom insert meld
perfectly into the factory dash. Turn signal lights were added for
safety and period correct knobs complete the interior package. The
Ford Standard is powered by a 239ci flathead that was rebuilt in
2009 and has run less than 3,000 miles since the build. An MSD
electronic ignition was added for substantially more firepower and
the 3-speed manual transmission has a factory '3-on-the-tree'
column shift.,12 volt system.Suspension is stock with manual
steering, new drum brakes and new 15" tires mounted on steel wheels
with stock 'dog-dish' hubcaps and trim rings. This little '40 has
been tweaked in just the right ways - it is a fun ride. Call
