Vehicle Description
Presenting here, a really gorgeous example of a Silver Shadow II.
Finished in 2-tone Willow Gold over Chestnut with matching fine
lines to the waist-rails and hubcap beauty rings. The interior has
handsome beige Connolly hides with chocolate piping and matching
carpets, also with chocolate binding. The same beige theme carries
through to the boot. This is a well maintained example by a
long-standing client of ours. It presents in excellent condition.
This has been a Texan car most of its life so it is a "dry" and
clean example that has had a garaged environment. As a result, it
has been freed from the perils of harsh weather and is very clean
underneath. The car has factory fitted twin door-mounted rear view
mirrors. In 2013 the car underwent a repaint in the same and
original colour scheme. A full "glass-out and doors-off" repaint
costing some $18,000. The paint is without blemish, flat as glass
and on a very straight and dent free body. There is not even any
signs of the usual "lead-wiping" cracking at the base of the A & C
pillars, common on almost all Silver Shadows. The Willow gold over
Chestnut is a rarely seen combination and is simply elegance at its
best. The Silver Wraith II presented here has been work-shop
inspected where all work needed is carried out. Important costly
items such as the hydraulics and brakes are fully inspected and
serviced as required. This includes checking of all brake hoses and
system pressure tested and bled. Brakes pumps have been rebuilt,
new accumulators fitted, calipers and pads serviced. It is ready to
drive and enjoy. The odometer shows a low 44,000 miles and although
this is not verifiable, the mileage is commensurate with the
condition (particularly when you look at the condition of the
interior, under-hood, brake pedal etc). It is very quiet and smooth
on the road without any of the typical "thumps" and "rattles"
typical of lesser maintained examples of this model. The interior
is completely original with the Connolly leather never redyed or
repaired. It is without tears nor fading and true to its Connolly
characteristics showing just the right amount of patina. The beauty
of original un-touched Connolly leather is that you have more than
just the colour you "see" but a rich burnishing tone in the deep
grain of the leather. This was a process unique to The Connolly
Brothers' tanning process which ceased at the end of the Silver
Shadow series. The burr walnut wood throughout the car is also all
original. There are minor hairline cracks on the dash and chips on
the front door cappings where the seatbelt often strikes the finish
but nothing objectionable and, once again, showing a nice degree of
gentle-use patina. stunning. The burl walnut in this example has a
deep red hue and is truly magnificent. The head lining is original
and in good condition. The original Wilton wool carpets with
leather binding are also in good condition. Likewise is the dash
and top-roll. The boot (trunk) carpet with the same theme is in
excellent condition. The car has a near new set of Hankook 225/75
white-wall tyres and the stainless hubcaps are excellent with
minimal to no imperfections. All remaining bright-work is in good
condition. All electrics have been checked right down to the
smallest and insignificant dash and courtesy light. Even the clock
keeps good time! Under the bonnet, the presentation is amazing. It
has not been precision detailed but simply kept clean and tidy
throughout its life. The under-bonnet heat pads are the originals
in good condition. As you would expect, this Shadow II comes with
its original jack, correct tools and operating manual. The car is
of very high standard and is an easy 10 out of 10 driver rating.
