Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this cool
1968 Volkswagen Beetle. Many will say the Bug is responsible for
what we know as the interstate highway system that we have today.
In the early 30's a crazy man in Germany wanted to make a
"high-speed" system of roads to move people and product through his
country. Little did we know at the time this man would become to
known as the Furor and the real reason for these roads was to move
troops quickly. I think we know how that worked out for him, not
very well. Unlike Adolf the Bug would live on for many decades to
come and much like him have a colt following that lives on today.
This 1968 Beetle, Bug, or people mover is a notable example of why
people fell in love with these little, almost indestructible cars.
Sporting its flashy red paint and accented with those classic
chrome bumpers it gets as many looks as cars twice its price. The
roof rack with its stained wood gives it an original classic look.
The matching deck lid rack only adds to the appeal. Under that deck
lid a brand new, not rebuilt, 1600CC engine is tucked away making
this a great candidate for your teen's first car. Open the doors
and you will notice the classic interior is in very good condition.
Yet still the part that gets me is this car is a radio delete car.
If you go underneath the car you will notice that the floorboards
are spotless. Unlike many VW's that have anything from house siding
to stop signs these floorboards are original to the car. The
original owner's manual and toolkit are in the trunk something else
you rarely see with one of these beauties. If you have been
thinking about getting a great classic car that will always be in
style or classic that is a blast to drive but doesn't cost an arm
and a leg to do so this little piece of history will be a perfect
fit. Options on this 1968 Volkswagen Beetle include; Vinyl
Interior, Seat Belts, Hubcaps, and Radial Tires. This 1968
