Vehicle Description
Cadillac broadened its market coverage in 1936 with the
introduction of the series 60 family of vehicles - completely new
to Cadillac. They were priced very fairly and showed extraordinary
performance. They ran on a 121-inch wheelbase which was 7 inches
shorter than the smallest 1935 Cadillac. New, also for 1936 was the
redesigned L-Head V-8 with 322 cubic-inches which was rated at 125
bhp. Behind it was a three speed manual transmission. All 1936
Cadillacs were equipped with GM's knee-action independent front
suspension and had the new duo-servo hydraulic brakes. Also new to
this Cadillac was a center-point steering and a front stabilizer
bar which was an industry first and complimented the carry-over
rear stabilizer bar and contributed to the exceptional handling on
the 36's. There were three series 60 body styles; a three window
coupe, four-door sedan, and a sporty convertible couple w/ rumble
seat. All of the bodies were done by Fisher - the larger Cadillac
vehicles had bodies finished by Fleetwood.
Great opportunities come around very few times in a person's life
and for the keen eye and the person that can see the upside to a
car, we have it for you. Offered here is a survivor '36 Cadillac
Convertible coupe by Fleetwood. It is mostly original and has a few
minor changes from new, but overall is a true authentic pre-war
Cadillac that runs and drives nicely and had great patina and is
begging for someone to enjoy or restore back to its glory. This is
#35 out of the assembly plant in Detroit and was optioned with
Master radio, flexible steering wheel and heater. The color scheme
is believed to be 1 of 6 built with the Klamath Green exterior with
matching green leather interior. According to the owner this car
was bought by her husband's grandfather in '42 and remained in the
custody and ownership of that same family up to present time. It
was stored along two other Cadillac convertible in their garage and
routinely used and serviced. The vehicle fires up with ease and
gets up to cruising speed with ease and is very enjoyable to drive.
Recent service work was completed less than 100 miles ago in 2014.
New fuel pump, front wheel cylinders, brake wheel cylinders, spark
plugs, wires, brake hose, carburetor kit, distributor condenser,
distributor cap and rotor, master brake cylinder, fresh brake
