NO RESERVE!
In 1937 Ford adopted all-steel construction for its closed
bodies discarding the fabric roof insert of the past. Evidence of
streamlining was ample in the handsome new styling. Headlamps were
now incorporated into the front fenders, the grille was stretched
and sloped backwards at the top, and fine horizontal bars decorated
the front end and hood sides. The result was one of the best
looking cars of the decade; even President Franklin Delano
Roosevelt bought a four-door convertible sedan, like this car, to
use at his Warm Springs, Georgia retreat.
The nut and bolt, professionally restored Ford offered here is an
“All Weather” model fitted with manual roll-down windows. This Ford
came from the famous Dingman Ford Collection. The outside of the
Ford is finished nicely with dark blue paint and features a tan
folding top, dual windshield wipers, whitewall tires, polished
wheel covers and a driver’s side view mirror. Powering this sedan
is a flathead 221ci 85hp V8 that is connected to a three-speed
manual transmission and was rebuilt by Roush Engines. The interior
is tailored in Camel leather with a banjo steering wheel, woodgrain
dash, factory radio, clock and white faced gauges. An extremely
desirable automobile that would be a great addition to any
collection.
