This very rare 1971 mercedes 20se convertible, Vin# BE444256 has only covered 63,500 miles and is 2 owners from new.
Finished in blue metallic the W111 coupes and convertibles were launched in 1961. Largely crafted by hand the two door styling remains timeless. The fabric top folds neatly into a recess behind the rear seat with a matching leather boot covering the fabric top. In 1969 the W111 wastransformed by new 3.5 liter overhead V-8. All the 3.5 engined cars featured the updated low grill design. The 3.5 convertible model was only offered for US concsumption in 1971. This cabriolet is one of 1026 convertibles and coupes sold in the US. It is one of very few with the highly desirable floor shift option. As a US delivery model it is fitted with Behr factory A/C, power steering, power disc brakes,power windows and the correct Becker radio.
The Cabriolet shows an excellent refinish done by Hatch & Son. The interior is originsl leather and well preserved. It has superb panel fit,chrome,, and original wood interior trim.Both the Haartz cloth top and boot are superbly presented.
The Cabriolet is a matching numbers example, the engine compartment has undergone a recent detail.
This car is a great example.
