Vehicle Description
Offered here is a fully restored, frame off ground up restoration,
1971 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400. Our client bought this car from
California in 2010 and meticulously restored the car while making
it perform even better than new, finishing in 2015. The car has
less than 1,000 miles since. This Firebird was originally a Formula
350 finished in blue over a blue interior; however, our client
wanted a cleaner finish in Cameo White over a black interior.
Everything on this car is essentially brand new.
The car is powered by a NOM 400ci rebuilt using racing pistons to
increase compression from 8.2 to 9.5:1. It also has SCAT Rods,
Melling 068 equivalent Cam, correct 1971 no. 96 heads with mild
port and bowl clean up, 1971 stock intake, Petronix Electronic
Ignition and Coil, and rare 1971 7041263 850CFM Carburetor. The
transmission is a rebuilt Turbo 400 with new Boss H06 Torque
Converter and new flex plate. Complete with Pypes 2.5 inch
Stainless Exhaust with correct CrossFlow Performance muffler and
correct stainless tips. The rear end is a 3:42 10 bolt Posi with
all new seals, axle bearings, drums, shoes, and wheel cylinders. It
starts, runs, and drives much better than the day it rolled off the
factory floor.
And here's the long list of all new parts: front and rear springs,
hoses, heater core, belts, alternator, battery, fuel lines, brake
lines, fuel tank, full brake assembly, engine wiring harnesses,
forward light harnesses, transmission lines, radiator, fan clutch,
rear bumper, shocks, floor mats, power steering pump, master
cylinder, tilt steering column with new formula wheel, slapshift
shifter, BFG radials on Honeycomb wheels, windshield, door glass,
rear glass trim, outside door handles, grills, door locks, emblems,
rocker moldings, body bushings, and wheel trim rings. All floor
pans are original except the very bottom of the trunk. The AC has
been deleted and it also has the original dash.
This is a high-standard, professional rebuild and all the bugs have
already been worked out after two years and less than 1,000 miles
driven. You simply cannot build this car for the price we are
offering it for here. It has been PHS Documented and even comes
