The oddball 914 that was developed in partnership with VW was looked at a nice replacement for the 912 and one that would allow Porsche to attract more people and money to their company with an inexpensive and reliable sports car. The 2-seater setup would provide that seat of the pants experience along with a look that was fresh and inspiring. With only a few years of production and overall very few of these left on the road that are in good condition and not neglected, a well-cared for and rust free ones are becoming very difficult to source.

In July of '74 Ms. Rhonda Campbell walked into Kent Thomas VW/Porsche and bought this stunning Marathon Blue 914 1.8L to get revenge on her ex-husband (according to folklore). This beautiful car was enjoyed by her for only a year before she traded it into the dealer. From there the car exchanged hands a few more times in the south. The car then was acquired by a gentleman out of Georgia that purchased car in 2011 and enjoyed it and kept it in great shape. Less than a year ago he decided to invest some money into the car and had the car stripped down and repainted in the factory color and had the wheels fully restored, new tires, new carpet kit, new headliner, and center console restored. Further enhancements that were done were new headers to exhaust, new fuel pump, and distributor and the car was converted from fuel injection over to a carburetor setup. This was done with all new parts and done right. Factory fuel injection system will come with the car. Vehicle comes with A/C as well and believed to be installed by the delivering dealer. Factory radio works and lights function properly.
