Please contact us for more information. The year 1956 really marked
the beginning of the high-performance era of Corvettes, as Zora
Duntov moved the Corvette into the world racing spotlight with the
small-block V8 engine. The \'56 Corvette was the first to offer
dual-quad carburetors as a performance upgrade to the base engine.
With only 3,467 Corvettes produced in 1956, this particular
Corvette was in the early production run, being the 683rd car built
in 1956 and produced on or around March 29, 1956. The 60th
anniversary just passed for this classic, single-headlight body
style. It remains a sought-after body style for the C1-generation
Corvette. This is an absolutely stunning NCRS Top Flight 1956
Corvette with Onyx Black exterior, Venetian Red interior and black
soft-top. This nicely optioned California car has the 225hp
dual-quad engine, Powerglide automatic transmission, power windows,
Wonder Bar radio, windshield washer system, heater and amp as well
as defroster. It is rare to see a \'56 Corvette with the correct
early engine components, including the dual-quad carburetors, the
rare oil pan with passenger side dipstick, correct ignition
shielding, generator mounting bracket, and super-rare 2-bolt
exhaust manifolds. This car has received an extensive and complete
nut-and-bolt, frame-off restoration, beginning with a beautiful
rust-free California frame, and pristine body with all-original GM
fiberglass panels. All chrome and stainless are refinished,
polished and stunning. The black body also has black coves, another
rarely seen feature. The interior is beautiful Venetian Red in the
correct waffle pattern, restored with Al Knoch components, as well
as an Al Knoch-dated black convertible top. The Wonder Bar radio
looks and works great with the seek function stopping on AM
stations. This beautiful classic 1956 Corvette was presented the
NCRS Top Flight award in 2016./p
