Vehicle Description
Here's the wagon you wish your parents had and/or wish you bought
to quickly get your young brood all around town. Now this 1969
Buick Sportwagon is a great vintage machine to carry family and
friends to all the events, and it can even tow the toys. This wagon
was built to to be a reliable and comfortable towing machine.
You paid more for a Buick back in the day, and even more for a
wagon, so style was essential. The sweeping sides look great, with
a contoured trim piece that seamlessly swoops over the fenders and
through the door line. It helps to highlight the curves that make
this Skylark-based wagon look like a bird of prey. Overall, it's an
amazing work of art that car companies wouldn't even attempt today,
and you can see all of it so well thanks to great care and good
gloss in the Avocado Green (that just seems like the perfect
60s-70s color, right?) But more than just curvaceous sheetmetal,
this has all the great classic wagon elements like the roof rack
and premium second-row sunroof. But the Sportwagon also lives up to
the first half of its name with the induction hood, tinted windows,
and Buick's iconic Rallye wheel package.
Inside, the buckskin tan vinyl looks delightfully original, right
down to the textured pattern in the seats that also match the door
panels. Buick was also artful with their design for the driver. The
factory steering wheel has a stretched horn design that coordinates
nicely with the extra wide speedometer right beyond it. All the
essential elements are set in the bright trim panel, including an
upgraded retrosound AM/FM stereo and provisions for factory air
conditioning. These are important features, because this Sportwagon
is really the perfect classic to enjoy with family and friends.
After all, not only is there plenty of room to seat six, but also
that cavernous rear section means nothing gets left at home. The
dual-open tailgate and power rear window will be your favorite
tailgating friend no matter if you're hanging out at pee-wee
football or the car show. Plus, with a modern trailer hitch and
electric plug, you never have to leave the big toys at home.
Another reason why you can tow what you like is because of what's
under the hood. This Buick proudly shows off its period-correct 350
cubic-inch powerplant. The ultra-clean engine bay has bright Dante
Red paint on the block, unique Buick valve covers, and the great GS
350 decal - everything that people love to see at the car shows.
But this engine is not just for show, it was rebuilt 3,500 miles
ago and includes a TA performance cam and Stage 1 intake, HEI
ignition, and a built for towing TH350 tranny. And not only can you
easily spot the cool ram air induction, but also below that is the
added power of a Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. It's a total
package that gives you everything you want in a powerful vintage
cruiser. That also includes nice driving features like the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc
brakes and rebuilt front and rear suspension.
Seeing a wagon this cool is always a rare sight that attracts
