Vehicle Description
This is a concours-restored 442 with matching numbers and original
sheet metal. Manufactured in Detroit, MI, this was a rust-free
Arizona car with all excellent original sheet metal for the
frame-off restoration. It's equipped with a matching-numbers 400ci
engine, correct 4-barrel carburetor, matching-numbers 3-speed
automatic Turbo 400 transmission and 3:91 posi-traction 12-bolt
rear axle. This beautiful Olds 442 exterior is finished in
factory-correct Sapphire Blue with matching blue interior. The
seats, dash, seatbelts and all other interior equipment have been
restored to show-quality. Other interior features include wood tilt
steering wheel, gauge package and original deluxe push-button AM
radio. It has stainless-steel exhaust, and all chrome and stainless
were restored. It rides on new Oldsmobile SS1 Rally wheels with red
line tires. It has an all-factory-correct trunk compartment with
spare and jack assembly. The engine compartment, as well as the
trunk, include factory-correct manufacturing markings and labeling.
This example of the 1968 442 starts, runs, drives, steers and
brakes beautifully, and has loads of power with its 440 ft/lbs of
torque.
