Vehicle Description
This CCKW military truck was originally from Quonset Point Military
Base in Rhode Island. It was eventually sold to the Boy Scout Camp
at Yawgoo Valley Ski Resort also located in Rhode Island. The Boy
Scouts used it as a fire truck. The truck was found inside a barn
at Yawgoo with 7,000 original miles and in 95% original condition.
Purchased from the Boy Scouts, it underwent a complete body-off
restoration. The exterior was refinished and painted Acura Paradise
Blue Green Pearl. The side steps, front brush guard, bumpers and
headlights were painted black. The 20" steel rims were painted the
body color with black centers to match. It rides on Armstrong
Military tires in the front and the rear dual tires are 40"
Goodyears. The fold-out front windshield creates additional
airflow. The rear taillights are from a newer-style Chevrolet
truck. A custom-made, mortise-and-tenon, solid-oak flatbed utilizes
wood dowels throughout and was finished with clear poly. The
interior has been completely painted the same color as the exterior
and features new black headliner, seat and carpet. The dash gauges
are original with the exception of the fuel and temperature gauges.
The original steering wheel, door handles, levers and pedals are in
great condition. Painted and nicely detailed, the engine
compartment is home to the completely rebuilt original 216ci
6-cylinder engine that runs great and is mated to the stock 4-speed
manual transmission with a high-low transfer case. The ignition
system was converted to 12-volt with the addition of an alternator.
It's equipped with the optional oil filter and a heavy-duty
radiator. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed, and the entire
chassis was cleaned and painted black. Both the front and rear
wheel drive is original. This truck has recently been completely
serviced and detailed, which is fully documented with an invoice.
It has 8,834 original miles (mileage not indicated on ownership
documents). From the MS Classic Cars Collection. **SOLD AS A PAIR
