1950 Pontiac Silver Streak in Uncasville, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

As General Motors stated, "The 1950 Pontiac was the most beautiful thing on wheels." Prior to a recent complete frame-off restoration, this was an original Georgia car. It still retains the original dealership emblem that reads "Henry Davis Atlanta." An original dealership sales brochure and original temporary plate from Georgia in 1980 are included. This car was restored to a very high level of quality. The body is very straight, and the wide easy-access doors make it a pleasure to get in and out. The blue paint is gorgeous and really pops in the sunlight. All of the glass and chromework is beautiful. The car sits on red rims with chrome center caps and whitewall tires. The interior has been completely restored very nicely. There's a wonderful feeling of luxurious comfort and roominess. It has wide and comfortable seats that are restfully contoured with plenty of legroom in front or rear and headroom to spare. The fine, quality appearance and texture of Pontiac's smartly tailored upholstery fabrics and gleaming good looks of its chrome trim appointments reflects the fine car touch. The trunk compartment is nicely detailed with the factory trunk mat and matching spare. The engine compartment has been completely restored and is nicely detailed throughout. The original 286.2ci straight-8 engine was cosmetically restored but didn't require a rebuild with low mileage. This was the optional engine upgrade with 108hp. This engine starts and runs great. As General Motors stated, "The Pontiac's Silver Streak engines are the sweetest on the road!" The engine is coupled to the smooth-shifting 3-speed manual transmission. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed. The suspension system consists of coils on the front and Duflex variable leaf springs in the rear with airplane-type shock absorbers front and rear. The braking system is multi-sealed, Duo-Servo hydraulic molded finings with emergency brake on rear wheels. This car has recently been completely serviced and detailed, which is fully documented with invoice. From the MS Classic Cars Collection.
