Vehicle Description
This all-original second generation Thunderbird, redesigned with a
back seat and unibody construction the year before, is a fine
example of a survivor. These formal-roofed "Squarebirds" cut an
impressive figure and, with their 352ci V8 under the hood, they
could move pretty well, too. The white paint, besides the wiper
cowl touchup and red pinstriping, is all factory-original on
rust-free original panels and in beautiful condition. It's had no
dents, scratches or accidents. It retains the original Ford-etched
glass throughout. The original brightwork, trim and lenses all have
a good shine and are in pristine condition. From headliner to
carpets, the red-and-white interior is all-original and in great
shape, every accessory works as it should. The all-original,
matching-numbers drivetrain includes the 352ci 4-valve engine with
10.2:1 compression, and produces 300hp at 4,600 rpm and 395 ft/lbs
of torque at 2,800 rpm. Coupled to its original Cruise-O-Matic
3-speed automatic transmission and 9" rear with 3.10 gears, it is
ready for fair-weather cruising. It has 46,000 original miles. No
modifications are present, and the engine bay wears a patina
consistent with its age. Original wheels and hubcaps are wearing
modern radial whitewalls for smoother ride and handling.
