[Saturday 3:30] 1968 Shelby GT500KR "King of the Road" Current
Owner States - In 1977 the car was dropped off at a local repair
shop in San Francisco California. At that time the owner told the
shop to beef up the engine and trans. That was the last time they
ever heard from the owner. The owner never called or made contact
with the repair shop and they had no contact info on him. The
repair shop assumed he was in the service and would return. The car
sat in the shop from 1977 to 2012 all torn apart. The car was then
purchased by the current owner in 2012. After years of rebuilding
the car from top to bottom, Engine: Completely rebuilt with new
pistons .060 nos cam, lifters, radiator, water pump, fuel pump,
rebuilt carb Trans: Rebuilt C6 new parts, Standard torque
converter, Differential: 9" trac lock with 3:50 new ring and pinion
and bearing and seals Brakes: new rotors, drums, shoes, pads,
calipers and power brake unit Springs: New heavy duty rear springs,
reused front springs, all shocks replaced, bearings front and rear
replaced Steering: Linkage replaced with new and an exchanged power
steering pump Interior: New bucket seats, console, dash pad,
headliner, rear seat cover, carpet, windshield, door panels all
bulbs etc... Exterior: Raven Black color, Since body was in good
shape with no rust. The body had the original paint stripped off
and any dents had been repaired Wiring: New engine compartment
wiring , Aftermarket sequential light system installed, every light
and bulb replaced. Pertronix ignition installed The original red
primer is still on the underside. Self etching primer was sprayed
followed by a primer sealer. Then the base coat was applied with 3
coats of clear.
