Just arrived! Ready for cruising!!! Resto-Mod 1947 Mercury Eight Sportsman Coupe, restored in 2001, small block Chevrolet 400 with 4 bbl Edelbrock, headers, duals, add on vintage A/C, 3.73 posi-trac rear end, Dolphin gauges. This car is a blast!
This car has a Chevy Nova front clip with 9 coil springs to
accommodate the 400cu in V8. The engine is mated to a Chevrolet 350
turbo transmission with a shift kit for nice firm shifts under
power. Tires were replaced in 2013. The car has new wheel bearings
and new rear brakes. The new radiator is aluminum and the car has
two electric cooling fans.
This car starts easily and idles smoothly. The A/C blows nice and
cold. All gauges work, all lights work as they should. Electric
wiper motor was added and works great.
Cosmetic issues include some paint blemishes and scratches, all
shown in the photos on the website www.briansplaceonline.com. The
rear side window gaskets leak, so they will need to be replaced at
some point.
