Vehicle Description
We all know the 5th generation Camaro is a future classic. And just
like now, in the future we'll be searching for interesting,
low-batch editions as the ultimate prize. So when even Chevrolet
recognizes its importance with a Commemorative Edition package on
this 2015 Camaro, then you know to pay attention, too.
If you're not familiar with the Commemorative Edition, you can see
from the original window sticker that this was a package for true
Camaro enthusiasts. The expensive option took an already aggressive
coupe like this SS, and turned it up a few notches. This includes
RS packaging, special 20-inch wheels, body-colored hood insert, and
the rear spoiler from the ultra-hot ZL1. This was only available in
five color combos, and the Red Hot seems like the best choice. It
offers the most distinctive standout for the exclusive black stripe
that wraps around the front and reminds us a bit of the iconic
"hockey stick" stripe on the original Camaro. And with less than
4,000 miles on this future classic, the whole appearance is
basically factory fresh.
Inside are more exclusive elements to the Commemorative Edition.
You notice it from the moment you open the door and see the special
sill plates. The appropriately named Adrenaline Red interior is an
exclusive package only for this special edition. The bright red
mixes with the black for a very aggressive seating, and this same
combo is repeated on the dash. Plus, the seats, steering wheel,
shifter, door panels, and center console all receive coordinating
red stitching. This is a retro car, so that means blending old and
new styles together. The special three-spoke flat-bottomed steering
wheel feels fat and grippy in your hands. It offers an unobstructed
view of the deeply recessed gauges that are a modern take on the
round dials in an early Camaro. Auxiliary gauges are down low on
the console where they belong, just ahead of the shifter. But mixed
in with this tradition are plenty of modern touches such as a large
digital infotainment screen controlling that controls the sat nav,
AM/FM/XM/iPod stereo, and integrated backup camera. Plus, this one
is loaded with air conditioning, keyless entry, power windows,
heated seats, power locks, cruise control, tilt wheel, and power
seats. Plus, a modern classic means modern safety features like a
head-up display, dual front airbags, side air bags, and ABS.
Under the hood, the snarling 6.2-liter all-aluminum V8 of the SS
trim is ready to play. Docile around town, but ready to bring the
thunder with 426 horsepower, there aren't many Camaros of legend
that can run with this Super Sport. Completely stock and
unmodified, it starts instantly and runs beautifully thanks to the
wonders of modern computer controls. And when you let the six-speed
automatic transmission slip into overdrive, it actually does pretty
well on the highway, too. Power steering, four-wheel disc brakes by
Brembo, and modern performance tires on those exclusive 20-inch
factory alloy wheels means this is a total package that will feel
great on any road.
Complete with owner's manual and the original window sticker, there
were only around 2,300 Commemorative Edition coupes built. So you
know this future classic has the right features to enjoy today and
the distinction to be admired tomorrow. Don't miss out, call
now!
