The storied Impala is one of those timeless designs that looks good no matter how it's built. Stock... Resto-modded... Pro-touring... Whatever... The clean lines and balanced stance on these cherished classics create a classy swagger that's universally admired. That means, if you're looking to ride in style, you really can't go wrong with a big Chevy B-Body. And when you factor in this coupe's correct drivetrain, tastefully restored interior and first rate, all-American sheetmetal, you get the picturesque profile of an incredible collector car!

BODYWORK/TRIM

The beneficiary of a $100K, body-on restoration, this posh bowtie wraps stylish red and white 2-stage around all-original sheetmetal. Purchased in the late-'70s by its most recent owner, the car was stashed in dry storage so its chassis, engine and firewall could be slowly rehabbed. In 2014, it was shipped to Xtreme Restorations of North Smithfield, Rhode Island for completion and final assembly. And since that 2016 button-up, this Chevy has logged a mere 10 miles of road time. Not surprisingly, the car's original sheetmetal wears mostly-original trim. At the front of that jewelry, a mirrored bumper frames stainless-trimmed headlights, a Chevrolet-branded hood and an original grille. That hood traces factory fender toppers on the way to stainless-trimmed glass that's seated between angled antennas and polished wipers. At the sides of those wipers, Impala-branded speed spears reflect traditional door handles. And at the back of the car, Impala-exclusive taillights illuminate stainless-trimmed fins and a second mirrored bumper.

ENGINE

Lift the long hood and you'll find a correct, 348 cubic inch Turbo Thrust V8 that's branded with a familiar 3755011 casting number. At the top of that Chevy Orange mill, a glossy, single-snorkel air cleaner funnels wind in to a big Rochester carburetor. At the sides of the block, clean exhaust manifolds allow oversquare cylinders ample breathing room by pushing spent gases through aluminized, true-dual exhaust. At the back of the block, retrofitted Pertronix ignition bounces spark between a Pertronix Flame-Thrower coil and 7mm Hi-Temp Suppression Cables. Charge comes courtesy of a tagged Delco-Remy generator. And all the right details are present and accounted for, including stainless fuel lines, bowtie-branded valve covers and an old school brake booster.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Park this full-size on a lift and you'll find a solid undercarriage that, thanks to almost 40 years of dry driving, is clean and largely original. Straight, undercoated floorpans perfectly complement a sturdy, Satin Black X-frame. A date-correct Powerglide 2-speed spins a date-correct drop-out axle to literally sail the engine through its power band. Under that capable drivetrain, a lucid suspension mixes a power-assisted Borgeson steering box with big, power-assisted drums. At the center of the floors, true-dual exhaust utilizes glasspack-style mufflers to weave an aggressive, full-throttle rumble into a subdued and classy idle. And at the corners of the chassis, great looking 8.00-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls frame highly polished hubcaps.

INTERIOR

In the 1950s, GM was the king of design. Period. And this Impala's striking interior is one of the most beautiful cockpits ever mounted behind a motor. As fastidiously crafted as its bodywork, the car's tri-tone benches are firm and extremely spacious. There's a stylish red dash that founds factory AM audio and factory bowtie telemetry on textured stainless trim. And at the center of the tailored environment, a 2-tone steering wheel spins a bright horn ring between a chrome shifter and a classy Impala emblem.

Freshly restored and ready to roll, this incredible Impala is a first-rate classic that's poised for years of shows and miles of cruising. With a hot motor, a lust-worthy body and a super cool interior, it's the kind of car that can be enjoyed for generations. If you're in the market for some top-notch metal that'll turn lots of heads and make lots of fans, here's your hot ticket!
