Original Owners Manuals
This is the one you want if you're looking for a first class driver. She has been babied her whole life. I have known this car this the early 90's, and the original owner is available to answer any questions I can't, or fill in any desired gaps of information. I have kept her superbly maintained, always opting for preventive maintainance, and always doing all repairs properly and imediately as needed. Rumor has it that she was on the showroom floor at Putanm Mazda in Burlingame, CA when she caught the first owners attention in November 1988 ( I think).
The 1.3L rotary is stock, except for the exhaust upgrade, the stereo system, and an upgraded alarm system. The engine loves to get up and go when the tach reaches 3000 RPMs. The car handles and corners amazingly. This is a California car, that I brought to Seattle in May 2014. Fuel comsuption is rated at 17/24. I have gotten much better on the highway, but not any better in town.
All features function as intended from the factory. The only modifications from stock are the paint colour, removal of the trunk badging, the sound system, and the Magnaflow exhaust mufflers. The original window has very minor road rash. The side windows are tinted. The dash is in excellent and original condition. There are new floor mats, as well as the original ones. The original carpet presents well, with minor staining, but little wear. The convertible top has a glass rear window, and a defrosting mechanism.
There are small imperfections, including the paint on the front bumper is a shade off from the body colour (bump and run in a parking lot), the dash vent for the defrosted is cracked, the side vent window was replaced, and is not perfect, minor paint chips mainly at the backside of the tyre areas (you have to look close to notice), the top can occassionally be slow to operate (but always works smoothly with repeated use), and possibly a few other minor things I don't recall. The leather seating is a pleasure to coddle your under bits. Very soft and consistantly conditioned. The seats were typically covered with towels when parked with the top down.
The car is probably an 8 out of 10. I am a tough grader in this regard. She is a fantastic driver, and is well sorted mechanically and cosmetically. I hate to sell her, but I don't drive as much as she should be. It's time to pass stewardship to a new owner. Summer awaits.
I am more than happy to address any and all questions, and will be honest and staight forward.
