from the factory in Sapphire Blue, and clearly benefits from a
top-quality restoration over 2-plus years by Custom Rod Garage in
Huntington Beach. Highlights include outstanding paint, smooth and
perfectly gapped and correctly stamped factory sheet metal, correct
Red Oxide and overspray underneath, excellent chrome, trim and
badges, and top-notch date-coded glass. The Consignor reports that
the only body panel replaced during restoration was just one floor
pan - underneath the driver\'s side of the Mustang and that only a
very small amount of rust was found prior to restoration of this
outstanding California-born vehicle, which included the use of more
than 90 per cent NOS parts in the process.\r\n \r\nDuring the
handful of post-restoration test miles, it is confirmed that this
car is a blast to drive as expected! The powerful K-Code 289 engine
produces an ample 271horses and the Hurst-shifted 4-speed Toploader
manual transmission puts the control right into your hands, while
the 9-inch conventional rear end with 3.50 ring and pinion delivers
the power. All the components are factory original and fully
rebuilt. The front disc brakes, upgraded Koni suspension, styled
steel wheels, and dual exhaust gives this fastback all the
performance and presence of the full GT package.\r\nLike all early
Mustangs, the interior is basic. Unlike most though, this standard
interior was assembled with great care, ensuring its exceptional
level of fit and finish. Everything is correct down to the FoMoCo
seatbelt tags. The Rally Pac instrument cluster is correct and
fully restored, and other outstanding features and amenities
include a heater, two-speed wipers with windshield washer, AM
Stereosonic tape/radio combination, and padded sun visors.\r\n
