NO RESERVE!
Since its original factory-built woodie in 1929, Ford had been
the wagon master, and with the smart styling of their
Thunderbird-inspired 1956 models, even mom could look pretty cool
behind the wheel of a Country Sedan. Ford also introduced its
Lifeguard Designs in 1956, promoting such standard safety features
as double-catch latches, which were designed to keep doors closed
in the event of a collision. The energy-absorbing deep-dish
steering wheels would set a new standard followed by other car
makers in later years.
Under the hood, you had the power of a mighty Thunderbird V-8
engine to get the kids to their scout meeting or a load of
groceries home from the supermarket. While this body style was
phased out during the 1990s, a resurgence of nostalgia with the
station wagon has seen several current manufacturers bring back
this useful body style.
This is an original Arizona car since new and has 43,000 actual documented miles. It is a rare 8 passenger wagon with the very unusual 3-speed manual transmission. The engine is the Thunderbird 292ci V8. Finished in its original color of Buckskin Tan. It features factory push button radio, spot light, dual rear view mirrors, wide white wall tires, front bumper guards and dual exhaust. Interior, exterior, undercarriage, engine compartment and all chrome are like brand new. Can be a show car or driven anywhere.
